Eventually // OPI Teenage Dream

17 January 2013

Teenage Dream was released as part of the Katy Perry for OPI collection back in 2010. And it's been on my nail polish lust list ever since. Of course it has, it's pink and glittery!

After discovering the easy-no-scrubbing-whatsoever joy that is peel off base coat, I decided the time had come to finally actually get it. Doing the later was a tad tricky given that it's now over two years since the limited edition polish was released and hence it's no longer available in many places. I found mine via ebay, where there's usually a few to found.

I'm most excited about using this polish for layering over base coats and prettifying some nail designs, but I thought I'd give it a shot alone first. It's a pink sheer jelly base with silver micro glitter and larger holographic circular glitter. I used three coats to get an opaque finish. It's beautifully sparkly so predictably, I love it! Although, the formula isn't great (it comes out a bit thick) it's still workable as long as you give it good drying time between coats.

Do you already have this polish or anything similar?

Who else is a big glitter nail polish fan?

  1. This is such a gorgeous polish! I have a similar one from the Louise Gray Topshop collection but didn't get on with it at all because it wouldn't last an hour without chipping!

OPI are definitely my favourite polish brand, but because of the price I always get them from beautyzone2007 on ebay :) xxx

    1. Oh no, I hate when nail polishes chip right away, so annoying!

Yes, beautyzone2007 is amazing for OPI!! :)

  2. I would love to buy a polish like that. I don't have any sparkle top coats, but I'm definitely looking into getting some.

  5. You actually just reminded me that I have this polish! I think I've only worn it once but seeing your swatches makes me feel like I need to wear it again. I love how it looks on it own.

  8. This is one of my favourite OPI colours!! I love that it looks equally as beautiful as a stand alone colour on your nails and when you use it on top of other shades! It's definitely a winner in my books :)

  9. This is stunning! Sadly I don't have anything similar because I'm always put off by the removal process! Such a pain to remove glitter!

But I really like this on you! Suits your blog layout kinda, haha! xx

    1. Oh my gosh, you can't let the removal put you off!!

I used to be like that but I found a peel off base coat from a Korean brand and swear by it now! You paint it on your nails first, let it dry then do your manicure on top as usual. You can literally peel off your whole manicure when your ready for a change. It's like peeling off pva glue if you ever did that?? (Random if you didn't, sorry!)

I sell the peel off base coat in my blog shop now so people who don't have the access to innisfree can get the benefit too! I wrote a blog post about it too a while back:

It actually changed my life (as far as my nails anyway) I constantly wear glitter now! :)
